Application
ADK 4-NNF is a flexibile, heat resistant biased splicing tape for use on abrasive belt butt splices with flexible X and J weight cloth including non-woven surface conditioning materials. ADK 4-NNF is also recommended for fine and medium grit applications that require either good conformability such as pump sleeves and ddraw sanders or resistance to thermal breakdown wwhich can occur on stroke and edge sanders. ADK 4-NNF can be used with glue bond, resin/glue, and full resin coated abrasives for narrow and wide belts.
All Adirondack woven products have been engineered to supply maximum strength in the belt direction without the additional thickness of traditional square weave fabrics. These thin oriented fabrics are also specially weave set to stabilize the tape for easier handling and processing.
Processing
ADK woven tapes with frozen film are advantageously used with adhesive application to the coated abrasive backing using contact bonding under pressure with heat activation. The following are suggested parameters which have been successfully employed in joining endless abrasive belts:

Storage
ADK 4-NNF is stable for 60 days when stored below 0° (-18°C). It must be protected from exposure to heat, humidity and direct sunlight. The shelf life of this product at room temperature is less than 4 hours.
